Judah’s story

“We have one of the strongest Modern Orthodox communities on any college campus across North America, and that’s one of the reasons I chose this school.”

Hillel really helps me facilitate my Jewish life while I’m away from home. I take advantage of the opportunities for learning, prayer, and Jewish holidays that the Hillel community helps provide.

I’m also involved in Pizmon, an a capella group on campus that travels throughout the country and around the world. Pizmon brings Jewish music to Jewish communities that wouldn’t necessarily have access to performances like these.

We have one of the strongest Modern Orthodox communities on any college campus across North America and that’s one of the reasons I chose this school.

Judah Hoffman is a student at Columbia who found a home away from home with The Kraft Center for Jewish Student Life at Columbia/Barnard Hillel, a UJA partner and beneficiary.
